About PLAYAGM
Hello and a warm welcome to all chess lovers/enthusiasts who land on PLAYAGM!
My name is Roland Burgstaller. I started this platform as a side project and I hope that it finds its place in the great world of chess!
Our mission
Becoming a GM is hard, very hard. Many GMs devote a big portion of their lives to becoming a GM. As of today there are 1,900 GM-titled chess players in the world. But many have to work in other professions to pay their bills. On the other hand, there are millions of chess players who find it very exciting to challenge the best players in the world. PLAYAGM ultimately is here to close this gap. The online simul format makes it fun and helps keep the entry fee rather low, too, while the GM can concentrate on what they love most: playing chess!
